The science of boxing dating back as far as the ancient Greek Olympics with roots in bare knuckled fighting has proved it's self as a sport with deadly combat application. As a means of exercise boxing has been internationally recognized in health clubs across the entire world for is ability to burn more calories in a short time period while providing a fun and challenging means of exercise.Unfortunately the way boxing is traditionally coached only the most athletically gifted do well. The traditional techniques of boxing rely upon speed, reaction time, power, strength and quickness. Hours upon hours of bag work and equipment training followed by hard, full contact, sparring is the standard prescription for training. Only those who are tough enough to withstand the process ever acquire any skill. In our martial arts life program we believe there is a better more intelligent and far healthier way to approach this sport. We can coach you the skills of boxing effectively in a far less competitive and far safer learning environment. We do this by placing an emphasis on the movement qualities that make the boxing game work and focusing on four principal drivers 1) perfect balance, 2) tight economical structure, 3) healthy conditioning and 4) the development of a mental game. The primary style of boxing we coach is known internationally as the Crazy Monkey. Developed in South Africa and famous for its signature defensive structure with the hands placed high over the head, the Crazy Monkey has developed into a truly unique and distinct style of boxing all together.
